The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) which works under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) department of the Government of India released the list of top 10 universities in the country.
As per the information released by the NIRF, the first slot in the list is captured by the Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru). The IIS Bengaluru was also at the number one rank in the previous year rankings of the NIRF. Both Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) and Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi) retained their previous year rank of second and third position respectively.
