The Chimney Safety Institute of America wants everyone to enjoy the cozy warmth of a fire while lessening their risk. One of the hidden dangers after you've burned wood in your fireplace, wood stove or other heating appliance is unburned wood that is still heated. These embers, once transported, can create a hazard. Watch this important safety video.
*Note: If your heating appliance has a grate, make sure to use it. A grate lifts the firewood off the chimney floor allowing air to circulate better providing a cleaner burn.
