Webinar Title: Solutions to Building Better People Skills at Work
Speaker Dr. Martina Carroll-Garrison
Description:
Your Long-Term Professional Success In Todays' Workplace - Independent Of Your Technical Skill - Depends Solely On The Quality Of Your 'People Skills'. However, you need to be aware Of False Thinking. ... because often we believe that our interpersonal skills are seen as innate qualities or natural characteristics. They are erroneously considered as fixed aspects of our personality. This point of view is problematic for two reasons;
Firstly this point of view is incorrect. We simply assume that the level of skill we have are qualities we are born with - however, we have forgotten that they are skills we have learned.
Secondly, this point of view is self-defeating. When we consider our skills as qualities we are creating false barriers to improvement. These limiting beliefs prevent the learning of new skills because we make excuses. For example, in terms of learning effective listening skills, those with limiting beliefs will say..." this isn't for me - my mind just checks out when others are speaking to me..." and in doing so their limiting beliefs prevent further learning.
In this Webinar You Will Learn:
Building better people skills in your work-life...
What are effective people skills (3 related sets of abilities/30 skills)!
Why great people skills matter at work (21 reasons)!
What 5 'bad habits' can destroy your career and what you can do about them!
