The culture, values, and behaviors that characterize an organization are the most important factors in determining its efficacy, effectiveness, and ability to improve. The interest in values dates back to the early eighties when Peters and waterman published in search of excellence. Despite increase writings in this topic, little has been done to help organizations translate values into actions. After the 2008 financial crisis, we have witnessed increase interest in the social entrepreneurship, for-benefit organizations and conscious capitalism. This new interest has not affected the preponderance of shareholders value in business organizations.
Knowledge about translating values into actions and for for-benefit organization need to be further developed, and better ways are needed to transfer this knowledge to businesses around the word. Business wards have effective in disseminating knowledge about Business excellence and quality management. Using business awards is also likely ensure better dissemination of knowledge about for-benefit organization and shared value. This webinar presents an Islamic excellence model that can be used as award model. This model also helps expand Islamic economic activities beyond Islamic banking, and ensures that these activities are about substance (benefit), not just form. The webinar also compares the Islamic excellence model with European excellence model and the American Baldrige excellence model.
