Webinar Title: High Performance through Stress and Health Management
Speaker: Prof. John Adams
In many places around the world, people are working 165 hours per year more than they were 25 years ago - an equivalent of approximately one additional month per year. Increasing numbers of people in the workplace are noticing that they are under considerable pressure, and state that they never have time to do all that they are expected to do. Work levels may also take away from the quality of family and social time, adding more stress to their lives.
The mean Strain Score (the beginning of adverse health risk predicted by a measure of depletion of your health reserves) of 20 years ago is approximately at today's 20th percentile, meaning that 80% of people are now at risk to their health solely as a result of doing their assigned work. Economic, social and home life stresses have also increased for many people. More and more people are realizing that their diminished productivity and efficiency, rushed judgments and decisions, and increased numbers of mistakes, arising from ever-faster time expectations, have an "invisible overhead cost" to their company as well as a "health and well-being cost" to themselves.
This program promotes the individual's capability of both withstanding the pressures of today's work environment and making more healthy life style choices. It provides the necessary guidance for participants to complete a self-assessment of how effectively they are currently managing the integration of their work and non-work lives. It provides practical, step-by-step processes for enhancing both optimal performance and long-term health prospects.
You will Learn:
Understand how much control you actually have over our own health and well-being.
Able to cope better with unexpected changes and everyday stressors.
Establish action plan of practical steps coping with your stress and building your health.
