
All gas-fired, certified fireplaces manufactured after Jan. 1, 2015 will include a safety screen that must be installed, according to the HPBA Barbecue. This is to reduce the risk of a burn from the hot glass. Chimney Safety Institute of America supports the new requirements, as they will hopefully lessen the risk to those who enjoy fireplaces, particularly young children.
