Safety is a huge concern to the Chimney Safety Institute of America, which is just one of the reasons why we partnered with the Mid-Atlantic Chimney Association in August 2014 for a 2-day event in Fredericksburg, VA that was helpful for those of you needing such services. One of the demonstrations shown here is two clay tiles on fire. Watch how the group discusses scenarios, such as where cracks form and what happens when water is added to the exterior. This helps chimney sweeps better understand the impact of creosote and resulting fire inside a home.
