Most business leaders tend to think of their organizations like a mechanical system. They keep on repeating words which are very mechanical in nature such as restructuring, reengineering, money making machine and downsize etc. The mechanical approach to leadership might work perfectly in predictable environments but it will not be sufficient to solve more wicked problems in an unpredictable one. In these circumstances, managers need to lead organically because it helps them create more sustainable businesses. In addition, it also allows them to identify future leaders and resolve the complex issues relatively easily.
