During the 2016 National Chimney Sweep Guild annual convention this past week, Mark Stoner, President of the Chimney Safety Institute Board of Directors, announced the official launch of the “CSIA Roadshow”, a new on-demand and on-location education initiative.
The CSIA Roadshow curriculum will be taught by CSIA’s own instructors and currently consists of twelve courses in four main focus areas: Technical, Business, Health & Safety, and Codes & Standards, and additional courses are expected to be added in the coming months. Each CSIA Roadshow session will run between two and five days in length, and sessions can be requested by any organization or individual in the chimney sweeping industry.
In addition to providing educational opportunities to CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps, CSIA Roadshow will also provide growth opportunities for businesses and organizations through a new tiered sponsorship program. National Chimney has also agreed to partner with CSIA to provide supplemental grants to organizations on a case-by-case basis.
“The number one goal of CSIA Roadshow is to provide additional opportunities for CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps to earn valuable Continuing Education Units (CEUs), making recertification easier, especially for our sweeps who find traveling to the CSIA Technology Center difficult,” said Stoner, “we also look forward to partnering with established companies and organizations across the country who want to help CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps expand their knowledge while growing their own business.”
CSIA will be taking requests for CSIA Roadshow sessions effective immediately. To request a session in your area or to learn more, please call the CSIA Program Coordinator at (317) 837-5362.
