Every time an instructor at the National Chimney Sweep Training School demonstrates the "thermal shock" that occurs during a chimney flue fire, the outcome is different! In this video we took today during Day 2 of the school, the liner cracks due to heat, but then contracts tight enough to hold a receipt -- which is dangerous in and of itself. Rich Rua and Michael Segerstrom led the demo and explain why.
